Conference: ‘Rights, protections and professional recognition in music’

Bologna: On 2 October 2024, the conference ‘Rights, protections and professional recognition in music’ was held in Bologna. It was organised by Note Legali, an association that has been active for 18 years in protecting musicians in Italy. The event, held in the Sala Bossi of the G.B. Martini Conservatory, offered an opportunity to discuss the challenges of the music sector, focusing on the rights and protections of musicians, authors and composers, and taking stock of the state of reforms in the sector.

During the conference, prominent speakers such as Andrea Marco Ricci (outgoing President of Note Legali and Board Member NUOVOIMAIE), Claudio Carboni (UNA Vice-President and SIAE Management Board Member), Mario Lavezzi (well-known author and honorary president of UNA – Unione Nazionale Autori) and Michele Massimo Pontoriero (President of UNISCA and Italshow) discussed the progress and difficulties in the reform of the entertainment sector. Among the topics discussed were social security protection for discontinuous workers and the legal recognition of professional figures related to music.
