The Ministry of Culture restructures its system based on General Directorates to a model composed by four Departments having nine functional areas, as established by Law 137 of 2023. The new areas include protection of cultural heritage, management and development of artistic value, promotion of entertainment and cultural activities, support for cultural institutions, research and innovation, promotion of literature and librarianship, protection of bibliographic and archival heritage, copyright, and promotion of cultural and creative enterprises.
This reform entails the dismissal of the Directors General, replaced by Heads of Department named by the Minister.
